5 Tips for Looking Great After a Big Night Out

There’s nothing like a big night out to leave you feeling haggard the next day, especially after a certain age.  Yet looking great after going out is possible at any age. Whether you live in an assisted living community, or you’re just starting college, beauty is more than just skin deep. Although a little grogginess may be unavoidable, it is possible to reverse the signs of your big night out by following the right tips. If you’re looking for ways to look and feel fabulous regardless of how late you stayed up, look no further than these tips for looking your best.

Smile!

A lot can be said about the power of smiling. Research shows that people who smile are much more attractive. Happiness is contagious, so if you can manage to make the world a brighter place with your smile, you’ll be that much more beautiful to others around you.

Sometimes after a night out you might not always feel like smiling, and that’s OK. However, if you’re feeling fantastic, don’t be shy to let out a grin. You might just look your best.

Hydrate

Hydrating is one of the best things that you can do for your body after a night out. Not only does it keep you healthy, but it also keeps you looking fantastic. When you’re dehydrated, your skin can lose its plumpness, and you may even look gaunt. Try to drink several glasses of water throughout the day, and you’ll thank yourself for it!

Stay Active

A lot of people avoid activity when they’re tired because they think that staying active requires going to the gym for hours. However, being active is as simple as going for walks, or engaging in an activity like swimming. Ultimately, all you need to do is move your body for a short period day to see a difference in your energy levels.

Try to find different ways to incorporate more movement into your day even if you’re feeling under the weather. Whether you take the stairs at work or dance in your living room, a spurt of activity can make a world of difference.

Get Sleep

There are some people that are 20 and look older than people who are 40. Often this comes down to good old-fashioned rest after a night out.  When you get plenty of sleep your body has time to regenerate and look its best.

Although 8 hours of sleep a night is ideal after a night out, it may not always be possible, so try to get at least 6. You’ll look and feel your best and be less susceptible to things like stress which are often accompanied with a big night out.

Reduce Your Alcohol Intake

Alcohol can start to take its pull on your body in more ways than one. If you’re interested in living a long and healthy life and looking your absolute best, make sure that you reduce your alcohol intake after a big night out. Ideally, you should eliminate alcohol entirely for at least a week.  However, if you can limit yourself to less than three units a week, you’ll already be doing yourself a huge favor and you’ll be on the road to feeling yourself again in no time!
